About Witney Joinery
Witney Joinery evolved when, at the age of 12, Martin, whose parents owned a forestry business, bought him a wood turning lathe so that he could make small items of woodwork for a hobby as there were always offcuts of timber stored at the yard. He started by making items for the home, and when customers saw what he was producing, interest and commissions came in and demand started to grow. This inspired Martin to go to college and get a joinery apprenticeship and work with other joiners and sometime later Witney Joinery was born, starting off in a small joinery workshop at home. A few years later, Martin outgrew the area he was working in, so he decided to rent a unit in nearby Abingdon. Business flourished, and when the adjacent unit became available, he took the plunge and invested in larger machinery.
With customer satisfaction levels at a high and a willingness to invest back into the business, Martin has been able to diversify Witney Joinery’s portfolio. After mainly operating in the Oxfordshire and Berkshire areas, Martin expanded the area of operation and now undertakes business not only in that area, but also in London, Wiltshire, Hampshire, Gloucestershire, Bristol and Somerset. Martin has also ventured to Snowdonia National Park for a complete window and door renewal.
Martin’s recent work has included the design, build and fitting of unique and elegant kitchens to the manufacture of wardrobes and bookcases, bespoke decking and balconies within Hythe Marina in Hampshire and a series of storage shelves and units for the Story Museum in Oxford.
Here at Witney Joinery, Martin welcomes discussions with clients, old and new, for any project you may be considering, remembering that all products are designed, manufactured and fitted by us, so you have total peace of mind that your project is in safe hands.
A complete service is offered, from the initial discussions to the design stage where a CAD drawing will be produced for your approval, right through manufacture to painting and fitting of your bespoke product.
